It was announced today by the Philadelphia Phillies that outfielder and former Indianapolis Indians player, Andrew Mccutchen will be sidelined for the rest of the season with a torn ACL that he suffered in a rundown during their game Monday.
Mccutchen who was drafted 11th overall in 2005 by the Pittsburgh Pirates, was called up to the AAA level Indy Indians in 2007 and remained with the Indians until he was called up to the show in mid 2009 after the pirates traded away their center fielder. He stated he wanted to play with the Pirates for the entirety of his career but that didnt happen. In January of 2018 he was traded to the San Francisco Giants and then traded again mid season from the Giants to the New York Yankees.
In the 2018 off season, Mccutchen inked a 3 year $50 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. At the time of his injury he as batting .256 and had 10 home runs, 29 runs batted in, and led the National League with 43 walks.
