The Indiana Hoosiers’ three-game winning streak ended Wednesday night (October 18) at Holloway Gymnasium, dropping in four sets to in-state rival and No. 19 Purdue. Purdue and Indiana battled closely in the first three sets before Purdue took control in the fourth, resulting in a 3-1 defeat (22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 13-25). This marks the first time since 2012 that the teams have split the season series.
With the loss, Indiana set its sights on Saturday night (October 21) as they faced Ohio State at Wilkinson Hall on homecoming evening. The Hoosiers prevailed after a nearly three-hour match. With the victory, the Hoosiers record improved to 16-7 on the season and 6-4 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have a chance at their best campaign finish since 2010, aiming for 21 regular season wins. Indiana now heads on the road for a match against Illinois with an 8 p.m. match on Wednesday (October 25.)
