West Lafayette, IND – The Boilers faced UCLA for the first time in non-tournament play and now as a B1G opponent. The Bruins started off strong and took the first set 25-23. Purdue would continue to trail late in the second set before a 10-2 rally propelled them to a 27-25 close-out to tie the score. Purdue would continue their hot streak taking the third set 25-20 before letting the fourth set slip away 19-25. The increased energy leading into the final set helped get the Boilers over the hump and take the set 15-11, ultimately ending on an unsuccessful coaches challenge. The match also saw a return appearance by two-time Olympian Annie Drews, fresh off her silver medal Paris games.
