Indiana Volleyball Wins 3-1 Over Michigan State

Bloomington, Indiana – The Indiana volleyball team defeated Michigan State at Wilkinson Hall on Friday night. The victory marked Indiana’s perfect start to 6-0 at home. Junior opposite hitter Avry Tatum led the charge with an impressive 19 kills and a .351 hitting percentage with three blocks. Junior outside hitter Candela Alonso-Corcelles added 17 kills, with the duo combining for 36 of Indiana’s 53 total kills. Defense was the key for the Hoosiers, as they notched 13 team blocks to stifle Michigan State’s offense. Junior middle blocker Madi Sell matched a career-high with seven blocks, while sophomore middle blocker Ava Vickers contributed six of her own. Indiana’s aggressive blocking and strong serving from graduate student Delaynie Maple proved too much for Michigan State to overcome. Indiana will face a tough test on Sunday afternoon as Ohio State visits Wilkinson Hall for a 1:00 PM match. The Hoosiers aim to extend their home winning streak and continue their strong start in Big Ten play.
