Indiana Women’s volleyball secured a historic four-set victory against No. 15 Purdue at Wilkinson Hall on Wednesday night in Bloomington, Indiana. It marked the first time in nearly 11 years, spanning 21 matches, that Indiana volleyball conquered a ranked team at their home venue.
The match unfolded in front of a record-breaking sold-out crowd of 2,725 fans, surpassing the previous record of 2,632 set during a match against No. 2-ranked Nebraska just a couple of weeks ago.
Indiana Junior Camryn Tatum, a Fishers, Indiana native and a transfer from Cincinnati, expressed her disbelief at the moment, asking, “Is this even real?”
This historic program win improved Indiana’s season record to 14-6, marking their best 20-game start since 2010. The Hoosiers’ 4-3 record in the Big Ten is also the best start to a Big Ten season since 1993. Indiana’s next match is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday against Michigan at Wilkinson Hall.
