The Indiana Hoosiers advances in the Big Ten Tournament by defeating Rutgers 66-54 on Thursday afternoon. Ali Patberg led the scoring for the Hoosiers with 19 points. Grace Berger had 17 points with six rebounds. The team did well passing the ball around dishing out 18 team assists. Defensively, the Hoosiers created 10 steals causing trouble for Rutgers.
Rutgers’s leading scorers were Osh Brown and Sayawni Lassiter who both had 12 points each. Lassiter was a spark off the bench for Rutgers, but it was not enough. Shug Dickson had 8 points in the first half before going out with an ankle injury. Rutgers could not get anything going right after Dickson’s injury. Going 2 for 10 from 3-point land hurt Rutgers and the 16 turnovers did not help either. Rutgers season ends with an 11-20 record this year.
Indiana took a 48-37 lead into the fourth quarter and never looked back.
