The Indiana Fever announced today the team signed guard Haley Gorecki to a training camp contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“Haley is a versatile perimeter player, who can play any of the guard positions or at small forward. She had an outstanding career at Duke University while playing in the competitive ACC. We are happy to welcome her to compete for a roster spot in our training camp,” Fever Head Coach Marianne Stanley said.
Gorecki was drafted with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, but was waived before the beginning of the regular season.
The second-year guard made her WNBA regular season debut in 2021 with Phoenix after signing a hardship roster contract and appeared in three games with the Mercury.
Gorecki averaged a career-high 18.5 points and 4.4 assists per game in her final year as a four-year standout at Duke. In back-to-back seasons, she led the Blue Devils in average points, rebounds and assists. She was one of five finalists for the 2020 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the top shooting guard in the nation and was a two-time All-ACC First Team selection.
