Fever land No. 4 pick in 2021 WNBA Draft

For the first time in franchise history, the Indiana Fever own the No. 4 pick in the WNBA draft, determined by Friday night’s WNBA Draft Lottery, presented by State Farm.

Indiana is positioned in the top four picks for the fourth straight season, but only the sixth time ahead of the 22nd season in franchise history, in hopes of returning to the postseason in 2021.

“Landing the fourth pick in the 2021 draft gives us a valuable asset to add a pivotal player to our championship culture we are building with the Fever franchise,” Fever Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager, Tamika Catchings said. “Our staff will do everything possible to explore all options available to us with the fourth pick.”

The Fever have drafted five first round players – Teaira McCowan (2019), Kelsey Mitchell (2018), Tiffany Mitchell (2016), Natalie Achonwa (2015) and Tan White (2005) – who ended their rookie seasons on the WNBA All-Rookie Team. Fever guard Julie Allemand, who was selected with the 33rd pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft, became the sixth player in franchise history to make the All-Rookie Team this season.
