Fuel win late vs. Tulsa

The Fuel returned home Friday night to start a three-game home stand, starting with two games against the Tulsa Oilers. Last time the Fuel were home, they took down Kansas City 4-3 in a Shoot Out but were hoping to rebound from a tough loss on the road at Wheeling.

It was a physical game that saw the Fuel tying the game 1-1 before the first Intermission thanks to a Quentin Shore goal off of a quick fast-break.

The 2nd period proved to be an even battle as both teams got even more physical and rough with each other but neither team was able to secure a goal, with the game continuing to be tied going into the final Period of regulation.

The 3rd period became even more physical, with players coming on the verge of fighting on numerous occasions and the Oilers playing a little on the dirty side but the Fuel kept their composure and pushed the game to Overtime, which was just as dramatic.

With just 20 seconds to go, emotions were running high on both teams and the crowd becoming even rowdier and vicious, demanding a win before things went to a Shoot Out when Olivier Labelle scored a tough and impressive goal to give the Fuel the late 2-1 win, heading into Saturday’s re-matchup with the Oilers.
